VET and SBAT

What is VET?

VET stands for Vocational Education and Training. VET in the VCE or VCAL allows students to include vocational studies within their senior secondary certificate. Students undertake nationally recognised training from either accredited state curriculum or national training packages which may contribute to their VCE and/or VCAL.

What is SBAT?

SBAT stands for School Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships. If a student has an employer who will employ them under the government terms of a SBAT then they may be allowed to do the Apprenticeship or Traineeship of their choice. Currently we have over 43 students participating in SBAT. These students are earning while they learn. They train and receive additional certificates in the Industry of their choice while at the same time complete their VCAL or VCE certificate.
