Subject Selections
Subject Selection
From Years 9 – 12, students have increasing opportunities to select subjects that reflect their interests, strengths and post-school pathways.
Students are strongly encouraged to utilise the resources made available to support them in making informed and suitable subject selections including:

Accessing the Subject Selection Booklet (Year 9 and Year 10) and/or the Senior Certificates Booklet (Unit 1, 2, 3 & 4 studies)

Encouraging parents and guardians to attend relevant information nights

Accessing mentoring support from Pastoral Care Teachers, subject teachers, Learning Area Coordinators, the Curriculum Coordinator and/or the Director of Teaching & Learning.

Meeting, as needed, with the Careers Coordinator, Mrs Jenny Pendlebury, the VET/SBAT Coordinator, Mrs Carol Fisher, and/or the VCAL Coordinator, Ms Helen Campbell.
All possible efforts are made to accommodate student preferences. To assist in this, it is essential that students meet the published deadlines for subject selection and subject applications. There will be instances, however, due to blocking, class sizes, and availability of resources when students may not get their first choices.

July 18 Deadline for return of VCAL slips
July 20 Applications for accelerated subjects (Year 11), reduced load (Year 12) and studying a Unit 3 & 4 subject without the preceding Unit 1 & 2 study (Year 12 ) open
July 26 VCE/VCAL Information night
July 29 Applications for accelerated subjects (Year 11), reduced load (Year 12) and studying a Unit 3 & 4 subject without the preceding Unit 1 & 2 study (Year 12 ) close
August 1 Web Preferences module opens for online subject selection
August 17 Web Preferences module closes for online subject selection at 9am and signed printouts due to Curriculum office..
