School Improvement Framework (SIF)
From the Catholic Education Website:
Developed in 2005, the School Improvement Framework seeks to address the dual purpose of satisfying legitimate expectations of government and sector authorities about accountability for the outcomes of schooling; and to assist schools and teachers to improve student learning outcomes. The framework recognises the distinctive nature of Catholic schooling, combining a structured approach to internal improvement planning with a component of external assessment and accountability.
The School Improvement Framework incorporates the following 4 accountability components:
-
Assessment of progress via an internal School Self-Reflection Report and External School Review every 4 years
-
Managing risk and compliance with legislation and regulation via a Compliance Checklist
-
Planning for improvement via a 4 year School Improvement Plan and related Annual Action Plans
-
Reporting on progress via an Annual Report to the school community and Catholic Education Office Melbourne
